Welcome to Our Latest Publication!
At a time when many publications are cutting back, South Florida Legal Guide continues to grow. With the introduction of our new Financial Edition, we now produce three major publications a year, including our flagship Guide in December and our Midyear Report in June.
In this publication our focus is on the dynamic financial relationships among lawyers and law firms with banks and wealth managers. In that regard, one of our major features, “Building Legal-Financial Teams,” examines the many ways that financial institutions assist the legal community and their clients. With “Banking to Lawyers,” we take that theme a step deeper, highlighting several institutions that cater to the specialized financial needs of law firms.
This issue also covers topics of interest to attorneys, CPAs and other financial professionals, including deterring financial fraud, and the impact of the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) — the focus of our August roundtable. We are highlighting a group of Top Wealth Managers and Financial Planners from the tri-county area, who can help professionals achieve their personal goals.
We have also invited several guest columnists to contribute their thoughts on financially related issues, including minimizing expenses in a divorce, using life insurance for estate planning and tips on charitable giving. Finally, we are taking a close look at a noteworthy Greenburg Traurig pro bono project in Palm Beach County that helps educate young adults about the financial facts of life.
We hope you enjoy reading our new Financial Edition and find the information of value in making your decisions. As our readers understand, all South Florida Legal Guide’s publications serve the legal and business community, rather than a general consumer audience. Our goal is to be a valued resource for our growing tri-county audience.
Thank you for your support!

A note to our readers: As this issue went into production, veteran real estate attorney Donald C. McClosky, co-founder of Ruden McClosky in Fort Lauderdale and one of our Top Lawyers, passed away. Our condolences to his family, friends and business associates.
